Must Have Beauty Products That Every Skincare Routine Needs

We all know the struggle of finding good products that work great with our skin. Whether you have oily, dry, or combination skin it’s really hard to find products that work right with your skin that don’t cost a fortune. Honestly, I think we’ve all been down this road of just trying to find our perfect products and get the perfect routine down. It’s a great idea as well to switch it up every few months too, your skin gets pretty used to using the same products and then you end up back at square one. Over the years I have found the best products that I can keep using or just change up my routine a little and they still work great with my combination skin. I figured why not share them with you! Links are also provided so you can check out the ingredients and other reviews and see about trying them out for yourself.

PSA I’d never share anything on my site, I haven’t tried myself or wouldn’t.

  1. A Good Moisturizer

This by far is my favorite moisturizer, 24/7 moisturizing, anti-aging, and it works better than any I’ve tried so far. Like I mentioned I have combination skin, so one day my skin could be oily the next dry as the sahara desert. This moisturizer works for the in between by moisturizing the dry skin but not over moisturizing and bringing out the oily skin again. Which is great because my oily skin makes me break out SO bad, so anytime I used any other moisturizer I ended up broken out within a week or so of using it. I HIGHLY recommend this product to use in your skincare routine. You can purchase it on Amazon as well and it’s super affordable! Here’s where you can check it out, Tula Moisturizer

  1. A Good Jade Roller + Gua Sha Combo

I had NO clue about these until my Mom actually bought one and I was like what in the world is that thing? And she showed me and I was AMAZED not only at how good it felt but what it done after a few times of using them. These are great for shaping, yes shaping, your face. You know how when you wake up and have all of that puffiness in your face? These help tremendously with that issue. They are also really great at helping apply moisturizer and serums. I HIGHLY recommend trying these out and looking more into getting them. Here’s the link to the one my Mom purchased if you’re wanting to learn more or grab a set of your own! Gua Sha and Jade Roller Combo

  1. A Great Serum

We all love a great serum, not only do they help aid moisturizer but they are the key to avoiding breakouts and helping brighten your skin to give you that glowy look. The Ordinary is a GREAT brand that has a ton of great products and especially serums. I highly recommend these because it comes with the three and they have saved my skin from breakouts so much. The Ordinary Serums

4.Cute Face Masks!

My favorite part of skincare is getting these super cute character face masks and having a good time! Especially if you have kids, nephews/nieces, or younger siblings to do them with. Not only are these cute and fun but these really do help my skin bounce back when it’s super dry/dull. They give a lot of moisturizing without making you too oily. They help give you that glow I mentioned earlier, plus they are super cute and fun.. Who wouldn’t want them?! You can grab yours here… Epielle Character Face Masks

5. Best Makeup Remover

By far my favorite makeup remover, especially since it doesn’t even burn your eyes! I used to be obsessed with buying those wipes and just scrubbing off my face but they either hardly got any off or burned when it got in my eye. I read up on micellar water and tried it out for myself and never went back! It’s GREAT at removing makeup and it actually makes your skin feel very refreshed/clean when you get done removing all your makeup. To take it off I got some of those cotton rounds, apply a generous amount, and start removing and I don’t even have to scrub to get my makeup off. Glides right off. Can’t recommend this one enough, here’s where you can grab it off amazon.. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

6. Best Under Eye Cream

I know what you’re thinking… Cetaphil… really? REALLY! This stuff works wonders on dark circles and really works wonders on smoothing underneath your eyes. If you have creases from puffiness and dark circles like me, you NEED this. Not only do I recommend it, so does Amazon. Cetaphil Under Eye Cream

So those are all of my recommendations for this post but I have plenty more where that came from, these are just my daily products and favorites. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and be sure to follow the blog for more great recommendations, reviews, and routines! Comment below what your favorite products are or your routine. :)

money-blogging-online-income

First off, I need to say I'm sorry I haven't been active. I've been going through complete chaos from my iPhone breaking to selling my laptop to get another phone to just now being able to work this new phone to figure out how to write blog posts on it. If my posts seem a little different or weird, thats why. I figured though that writing on here is better than not at all... Right? Anyways, I'm back and better than ever and in such a better mindset than before which is something else that motivated me to come back. So, lets get into the post.

Now this post... Its a little different considering the name of my blog is "Makeup by Dawn Craven" the thing is, I want this blog to be about a couple other things that help others and you enjoy this post and think the same please let me know below! I wanted to share something that I see others in my Facebook groups and everywhere else asking... How do I make money with my blog? Now the number one thing I and every other blogger can tell you is that if you are blogging just for the money, you won't make it. That sounds harsh I know... But it takes time to make money blogging and you have to love what you do. When I first started blogging, it was a hobby. Honestly, I just loved the feeling of writing because it made me feel so great and helpful and productive. If you think though that money comes quick when you start a blog, you're wrong. It takes a while to build up an audience and to figure out how the ropes work running a website. The only way you'll make an income blogging is if you are patient, love writing or whatever you write about, and you are willing to put in the work. Just because its an at home job, doesnt mean its not as much of a job it just depends on how you treat it but if you put in the time and effort and a positive mindset, you'll be on the road to a full-time career in blogging in no time.

So, what are the ways to make money exactly you ask? I'll list them out for you below because there are quite a few.

  1. Ads. Ads are one of the most common and easiest ways to make money through your site. Its something I dont take part in, because I hate going to a site and pop ups coming up everywhere and making the site super annoying and spammy but it is a great way to make an income from your site. You do have to sign up though and it takes a while for some people to get approved and some never even do. If you want to try it out though, go for it! Just remember to read all of the rules first and how to set them up, be careful because Google will nitpick your site during the process of deciding if theyll accept you or not and can turn you down or ban your site overall. As long as you've been a good sport though, you should be fine.
  2. Affiliate marketing. This is my absolute favorite way of making an income through blogging. It's easy, gives you tons of great products to post about, and you can actually make a full-time income just from affiliate marketing itself and all you have to do is find an affiliate program, sign up, and start promoting products you love through your site or social media. If you want to learn more about affiliate marketing and how I actually made $2,000 in the past two months just by selling Amazon products, I used an affiliate bootcamp. The price is reasonable and it taught me a lot, i.e. one little bootcamp helped me start my career in blogging. If you want to join our bootcamp to start making as much as if not more than me, here is the link as well as a link to the social media kit to help you get engaging leads through social media for even more sales! > Affiliate Bootcamp BundleAffiliate BlueprintSocial Media Bootcamp  Audience Toolkit . These are all really great training programs that I would highly recommend to anyone because they helped me out so much and really it taught me how to fully grow my business to its full potential which continues to grow daily.
  3. Ebooks, courses, etc. This is another great way to make money blogging, if you have the time and patience to create your own products. You can make your own courses, printables, or write eBooks and sell them to your audience! Just make sure that you write or make something of great value to them that will help your audience learn something great or new from your work. This is where you'll probably want to start building up an audience so you can start amping them up for your product release! A great tool for growing your audience and engagement is what I used to grow my social channels as well as my site and email list and that is from simple social tools. They have a ton of great programs but I used the Audience tool kit to grow my audience so I could start selling my blogging printables! You can check out the kit here > Audience Toolkit. I HIGHLY recommend it to increase your audience and your sales, get your product out there and start helping others with it!
  4. Sponsored posts. This is the last and final tip I have for you to start making money with your site. Sponsored posts are great because they work in a variety of different ways from free product exchange, cash, or sometimes even both. All you have to do is promote the brand and you'll get to try new free things or get paid for it. Just make sure you loved the product before you write a review, if you had any issues with it be honest in your post because your readers shouldn't be lied to. I recommend going with a brand you love or like, do your research before promoting a new brand as well.

If you guys are interested in checking out my favorite audience toolkit to help you gain traffic as well, here is the link again > Audience Toolkit!! Those were all of my tips and ways to make money on your blog and I hope you enjoyed reading this post! Comment below if you did and where you're from! Would love to get to know my audience. Well, I'll see you all in the next post.

P.S. One more quick recommendation for affiliate marketing or growing your business. I started reading this book about a week ago and so far it has changed my whole mentality and look on myself and business. I HIGHLY recommend checking it out and giving it a read it's called Think and Grow Rich

halloween horror movies october

Maybe some of us love horror movies, and maybe some of us don't. Here's the thing, I grew up on them and absolutely love the adrenaline and thrill of horror movies. It's just a weird/different feeling that interests me so much and I just love the suspense of them. So, if you want any good recommendations or anything, you came to the right place because I've seen a ton of great ones.

1. Insidious
This will forever be one of my favorites. It's just so suspenseful yet interesting and just so different compared to the typical "haunted house" film. I love every one of these movies and highly recommend them. The first one is by far my favorite but they are all great.

2. The Conjuring
This movie, the first time I watched it, kept me up all night. I was utterly terrified and couldn't sleep for anything and this movie was the only one that could ever do it to me. I'm sure most of you have seen it but if not it's definitely a good one to watch but just be careful, you probably won't be able to sleep. I was terrified of my closet after this one.

3. Annabelle
This one is absolutely great in many ways. Not only is this doll completely creepy but it has a ton of great jump scares. This one didn't keep me up all night like The Conjuring but it surely kept me on the edge of my seat and had me freaked out for the next few hours afterward. Also, I got rid of all the porcelain dolls my Mom had stored in my room because they freaked me out after watching this movie.

4. Sinister
This movie is literally so creepy it gave me chills. It was terrifying but also so good and interesting because of the actual storyline. Honestly, I'd give these 10/10 because they were so good.

5. Coraline
Now to get more into the cartoon version of Halloween movies Coraline is a great one. It's got that little scare and creepiness in it from button eyes to getting almost trapped in another world. It's a great cartoon movie that is creepy, but not too much for a younger audience to watch too.

6. The Corpse Bride
The classic go-to animated Halloween movie. I love this movie so much and it's not creepy it's just cute to be honest, to me anyways. I really love this because it would be creepy to little kids but for mid-age and up it's really good and just overall really cute. This is the perfect Halloween movie to watch in the morning or mid-day to put you in that Fall mood.

7. Halloween
Back to spooky but more of a classic. We all know about Halloween movies and they are SO good. I can't even put into words at how much I love Michael Meyers and how much I would pick him over any classic horror movie character. They also are supposed to be coming out with a new one October 19th, which I plan on seeing because it looks so good and I love some Michael Meyers.

8. Nightmare on Elm Street
Who does not love to watch a little Freddy Kreuger? The literal other classic. I love love love to watch these movies but the last one they made and released was obviously my favorite. It was so good and had a great amount of scary with the perfect story-line. Just watch out kids, he'll come for you in your dreams. :)

9. Veronica
Honestly, this one's a sort of new one but it's really good. It's a Netflix original and has a ton of hype that really is worth watching. It's so good and would be even better if it was in English and you didn't have to read subtitles, but it has an AMAZING amount of jump scares and it's just completely creepy and kept me up all night just like The Conjuring which I didn't think could be beaten. I highly recommend.

10. Poltergeist
Not really one that most people love, but I loved it. It was so different compared to the, again, typical "haunted house" film and was just really suspenseful. It's not one for many jump scares but I do recommend it if you love suspense or creepy things. I've never watched the classic but I did watch the newest one that came out, a few times actually.

So those were my 10 picks for my favorite fall films. They are so good and I highly recommend them and giving them a try anyways. Take it from the horror movie queen, haha. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed reading this post and comment below your favorite horror films and also your pick on this question: Freddy or Jason? :) Thanks for reading loves and check back tomorrow for a new spooktastic blogtober post.

fall autumn cozy lights coffee candle laptop bed

We all love to have those good, cozy, Fall nights where we just drink a good hot beverage and chill in bed while watching a good Halloween movie. It's the best feeling and the best way to relax. Fall nights are my favorite type of night so I had to write a routine for you all this blogtober. I hope you all enjoy reading and don't forget to comment below if you enjoyed the post and what your favorite Halloween/horror movie is! :)

1. So the first thing I love to do on a good, cozy, Fall night is to just come home and take off all of my makeup and change into some comfy clothes. I'm never ever cozy unless I'm in my comfy clothes which normally consists of some joggers, an oversized shirt, fuzzy socks, and my hair in a bun. There is literally no better feeling.

2. Once I'm done getting unready for the night, I head into the kitchen because it's right around dinner time by now. The thing I love to make in Fall is for sure either soup or chili because it's just such a warm and cozy food and that's what Fall is all about. My Mom raised me on soup in cooler weather, which is probably why I'm like this now haha.

3. After my food is finally done, I'll head into the living room and just turn something on TV. I know some think it's awful to watch TV while you eat but I've always done it and don't find anything wrong with it as long as you are comfortable. So I'll just put on normally something cute yet spooky like Coraline or The Corpse Bride but if I'm feeling like a TV show I'll turn on my new current favorite which is Life Sentence or my old favorite (which is great for Halloween and Fall) Pretty Little Liars because as you can tell, I love Lucy Hale.

4. Once I'm done with my dinner I'll turn off the TV and head back into the kitchen to wash all of the dishes I used to cook and eat with. Then I'll make me some sort of beverage that is Fallish. This consists of hot chocolate, some decaf french vanilla or hazelnut coffee, or green tea. Something is just so comforting about warm drinks in Fall and Winter.

5. Now that I have my drink in hand I'll head into the bedroom light my favorite fall candles and just crawl in my bed, grab my favorite book which right now is #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso and it's so good and motivating if you're a blogger or YouTuber or influencer or entrepreneur of any kind. If you want to check it out for yourself here's the link > #GIRLBOSS and she also has an interactive journal I got that I absolutely love and really helps me keep and stay on track and motivated which I will also add the link to here > #GIRLBOSS journal if you want to check it out. I highly recommend them because they have literally motivated me so much and made me feel like a bad a** and like I can do anything.

6. After I've read at least a chapter or two, or three I won't lie. I'll head back into the bathroom and brush my teeth and start on skincare. For skincare, all I do is just wash my face and get off all the extra makeup that I didn't get off earlier. Then I'll go in with my under eye cream and also my moisturizer because moisturizing is super important for your skin.

7. Now that I'm all pampered and relaxed, I'll crawl back into my bed, set my alarms, and go straight to sleep (if possible).

That's all for this post and my Fall night routine you guys! I hope you enjoyed reading and don't forget to comment your favorite Halloween movie! I need some new recommendations. Thank you so much for reading and don't forget to subscribe on the right top hand side and also remember that sharing is caring. :)

Side note: Affiliate links may be included in this post which means if you purchase them through the link I will receive a small commission off of the purchase. Every product I recommend has been tested by me or will be and is by a brand I trust. Would never send my audience to products I wouldn't use myself.

fall morning routine coffee apples

Mornings have never been my thing, especially in Winter, but when it comes to Fall it's a different story let me tell you. I have these themes in Fall mornings where I just want to wake up and get ready and be productive because it's so cozy and comfy and exciting all in one. Fall is by far my favorite seasons and so this is by far my favorite morning routine. Yes, I change up my routines by seasons because some are harder to deal with than others. For example, Fall it's cozy and comfy and I want to get up and wear a flannel and boots and Winter it's freezing and I don't want to leave my warm bed, even if it's for coffee or breakfast... So, why do I love my Fall morning routine so much and what is it that makes it so special, you wonder? Just keep reading. :)

1. In the morning, I typically like to get up around 5:30-6 just because I end up more productive when I wake up early in the morning and it gives me time to get me time in before my day starts. So, once my alarm goes off most of the time at 5:30 I'll typically lay in bed for about a good 10-15 sometimes 20 minutes and just scroll on my phone. I'll go on Pinterest and WeHeartIt and look at quotes and then just some cute Fall pictures to make me feel a little more cozy.

2. Once the bathroom is calling my name... I'll get up, head to the bathroom, and just use the restroom, brush my teeth, and splash my face with cold water to wake me up a little bit and moisturize because it's super important and it's going to help so much get me into the habit of doing so in those cold winter months when it's crucial to do so.

3. After I'm done in the bathroom, I'll head back into the bedroom and just make the bed because it makes me feel a lot more put together and makes the bed look really nice and the bedroom look really clean.

4. Now, it's time for my favorite part... COFFEE. I like to change up my coffee style every season with different creamers, spices, etc. Two things I love for Fall is I'll either add in pumpkin spice creamer and some pumpkin spice seasoning on top or I'll go in with that same creamer or a hazelnut or even vanilla and sprinkle some cinnamon on top which really helps to wake your brain up too in the morning, studies show.

5. Once I have my side kick in hand, I like to either head back into the bedroom for a bit or chill on my couch with a comfy blanket and watch, yes I'm extra for this, Halloween movies. Not really horror movies but things like The Corpse Bride, Coraline, all of those are so good to watch in the mornings and it really puts me in a good Fall mood in the morning.

6. After I've drank my coffee I like to grab a water bottle which is always 16 oz. and sometimes I'll do 24 oz. and just chug that really quickly just to go ahead and rehydrate and get it over with. Hydration is so important for your skin, mind, health, and just body overall. It definitely I've noticed has helped with bloating too.

7. Once I chug that I'll usually go ahead and start my workout. This is always either power yoga or circuit training which I do both of at home where I'm comfortable. Most mornings in Fall consist of yoga because it's more calming and really, to me, gets the job done because I end up sweating just as hard as circuit training.

8. After I finish my morning workout I like to sit somewhere comfy and move my phone, turn off or down my TV, and make it distraction free. Then I'll sit and meditate for a good 10 minutes at least just focusing in on me, my body, how I'm feeling, and my breathing. This is so good and really helps you get in tune with your body and your mind at the same time.

9. Now that I'm done with all of that I'm usually pretty hungry by this time. Fall mornings normally for me consist of Oatmeal for breakfast with some cinnamon and berries but I'll also at times just have some eggs or toast if I'm feeling like being less extra.

10. Once my breakfast is all prepped and ready to go, I'll head into my dining room with my food and water and then sit there and just eat and watch either my Halloween movies or I'll chill on my phone and check any updates or social media posts I missed from the night before.

11. After I get through eating, I'll head back into the kitchen and wash the dishes I used. Then I'll light up some fall candles, and head towards my desk. Once I'm situated and have settled down at my desk I'll open up my laptop and get to work on my blog. This can be writing and scheduling some days or on others, it could be just editing and scheduling for uploads.

12. Now that I've worked on my blog and ebook for a good 3-4, if not more, hours I like to get up and head into the bathroom and get a good hot shower to relax me and make me get out of "work mode" and to do this I always take a really hot shower and kind of calm myself down to get work and blogging off my mind or else it takes over. A few of my favorite fall products for the shower are by far this spiced pumpkin cider scent by Bath and Body Works. It smells amazing and it's literally like Fall in a bottle. It has that sweet but also musty scent to it and I can't recommend it enough. Every season I like to buy the body wash, lotion/body butter, and the body spray. It smells SO good. My favorite shampoo and conditioner right now is HASK in the scent cranberry and pomegranate. It smells so good and it's actually made from greek yogurt? It seems weird but it works wonders. My hair feels so smooth when I'm done using it and it honestly feels safer to use it in my hair than regular/store-bought products.

13. Once I'm done taking my forever long shower I like to sometimes blow dry my hair if I'm feeling it but if not I'll leave it to air dry and just put some leave-in treatment in it to help detangle it when I go to brush it after makeup and just braid it or put it halfway up or even in a bun if I'm not going anywhere.

14. After I'm finished up with my hair, I'll go ahead and do makeup. Even if I'm not going out I still like to do this to kind of make myself feel put together and more confident. If I'm not going out, I'll do a simple look but if I am or I'm filming for YouTube I'll go ahead and do a more full-face/glam look. My favorite looks for Fall always consist of a good maroon colored lipstick.

15. Now that I'm all put together, I'll head into my closet and pick out an outfit for the day. Most of my fall outfits consist of a good flannel, tanktop under (it gets hot around lunch), a good pair of boots which normally consists of my black ones that lace up in the back (they are super cute). Then I'll spray on some perfume or body spray and two of my fall favorites are Dark Flora by Victoria's Secret OR twentyone black by Rue 21 (which I've worn since like 6th grade). They have that sweet musty smell to them that just smells so much like fall and I love them so much.

16. After I'm completely put together and ready to go I'll either clean up my house and just work some more on my blog or I'll head out the door and go run errands or whatever else I need to do that day.

That was it for my Fall morning routine loves! I hope you all enjoyed reading and check back tomorrow for a new Fall/Halloween related post because I'll be posting every single day up until the 31st of October! Thank you for reading and don't forget to comment and let me know what your favorite Fall scents are! Also, sharing is caring. :)
